Joseph Odhiambo is Kenya by nationality, born in 1989 in Ong’er village, Nyatike Sub County, Migori County, along the shores of Lake Victoria andis the second born in a family of three sons and three daughters. He manoeuvred his ways through hard work which inspired his parents to support him through his primary and secondary education journeys. He went through his primary and secondary education successfully by the hand of God.
Upon his excellent performance in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E), Joseph joined Egerton University in 2012 where he enrolled in a Bachelor degree in Agriculture and Human Ecology and Extension. He graduated with second class honours uppers division in 2015. He got a contract job with World Vision Kenya, Nyatike ADP in 2016 where he served as a community livelihoods facilitator and researcher in the organization’s baseline surveys. He left a classical mark in the community by training low income households in vegetable kitchen gardens, composting organic manure, making and using botanical pesticides and homemade yoghurt which tremendously improved housed food security, nutrition and income.
He is currently enrolled in a Master of Science in Community Studies and Extension at Egerton University (2017-2019). He has a purpose of going back and impact his community at the end of his studies. In addition, he is planning to start up a strawberry agribusiness and a carwash to employ the jobless.
